Natural Stone Care

What to Expect

HydroShield-protected natural stone is not self-cleaning. HydroShield-treated stone can be up to 75% easier to clean because contaminants remain at the protected surface rather than becoming as difficult to remove. HydroShield helps protect the natural beauty of appropriate stone surfaces while making routine maintenance easier.

Easy-to-Clean Natural Stone

For natural stone flooring, vacuum or remove loose dirt and debris as needed. Caked-on dirt may be gently agitated with a soft-bristle brush before cleaning. When additional cleaning is needed, use a damp sponge, mop, or towel with an appropriate neutral-pH stone cleaner.

For natural stone countertops and shower surrounds, use a neutral-pH stone cleaner and wipe the surface with a clean cotton or microfiber towel. For stubborn buildup, an appropriate neutral-pH cleaner and a white non-scratch scrub pad may be used as needed.

For best results and compatibility with your HydroShield protection, we recommend HydroShield Neutral pH Cleaner.

Customers may purchase cleaner directly from HydroShield of Tampa Bay or order through the HydroShield online store. Purchasing locally may help you avoid shipping costs.

Protecting Your Natural Stone

Natural stone can vary significantly in composition, finish, and maintenance requirements. Avoid harsh, acidic, or abrasive cleaning products unless they are specifically recommended for your particular stone and HydroShield-protected surface.

If your stone needs professional cleaning or restoration beyond routine maintenance, contact HydroShield of Tampa Bay and we can help determine the appropriate next step.
